Ohlala what a week, Lovelies !
As you know, today marks the beginning of Vancouver Olympic Winter Games 2010. I must confess that until yesterday, all this stuff was kind of pissing me off. But something shifted in me, I don’t know what it is yet but it happened. So no, we won’t attend any of the competitions but will watch the opening ceremony with a lot of pleasure (and it seems to be WONDERFUL, dixit my husband’s colleague who attending the rehearsal ceremony and said it was stunning).
It’s on for two weeks (and then two quieter weeks during the paralympic games), when all eyes will be watching our city.
I really want to thank my SweetPea (one of my BFFs), without who we certainly wouldn’t get out to see the torch.
This week, I am truly thankful for:
⚙ We saw the Olympic Torch near our home (like 100m away). We didn’t know if we would attend and it was not planned as I was suffering from a terrible headache since 4pm that had me in tears for almost two hours; so I was in bed trying to get rid of it when we heard the helicopters and the crowd startint to cheed outside. At the last moment, we decided to jump out of bed, dress up really quickly and see if it was not too late. We arrive just on time, the torch passed a few minutes after our arrival. It was very emotional, I’m surprised. I’ll try to upload the video Cheridoo made. The city is dressed with Canada flags everywhere (on the buildings, on the houses windows, on the cars, on the buses, on tv… everywhere proud is shown), Smurfs are everywhere (aka people requisitionned for various things during the games, they’re wearing Smurf-Blue clothes).
⚙ At the end of last year, I applied to become an Advanced Reader Reviewer for Louise Hay Edition (it publishes books written by Lisa Williams, Deepak Chopra, Doreen Virtue, and a lot of other authors . Regularly, I reminded the Univers how badly I wanted to be part of it. Yesterday, I received a package with the logo of the edition with a letter telling me that my blog was accepted and that it was a book they send me to read and then review here. I’m so honoured and glad to have been chosen. Thank you !
⚙ I received my Silhouette die-cut machine. So excited to be able to customized my artwork thanks to it.
⚙ Talks with my SweetPea and with Paola. Glad also to have some news from my friend Isa. It makes me realize that Friendship is also about letting Friends live their life and be silent for a while, but still be there when they “come back”. I ♥ U
Thank you for all that is brought to me by Life, I’m deeply grateful and will put it for good use, I promise !
Bonus of the day, a video that will show you the strength and beauty of the torch relay, and how my city rocks:
