I am so happy to share with you today a new {Art Journaling In Motion} video showcasing a special project I am part of.

A few months ago, Tina Walker had an open call to artists who would be willing to participate in an idea she had: she would prepare and send the same envelope of supplies, and from it we would create anything. We did not know what she would pick and were all unaware of the level of “it is out of my comfort zone” that would fill the parcel.

And this project was born: Starting from the same place

I received it in the midst of unpacking our house and my new Studio, and just took a glimpse when I got it in the mail, then it sit for a while. In it, were a ViewMaster disk, a stencil by StencilGirl (you know I love me some stencils, right ?), some painted/dyed canvas, some Fabritac, resisters (yes, the electrician thingy), some Amazing casting products and chipboard pieces. Lots of fun stuff that gave me quite some thinking to do prior to start.

I really tried to use everything, at least partially (as you can see, I cut some of the fabric for my signature droplets, for example) but could not use the green fabric for example (I am keeping all the leftovers for future projects).

I really invite you to browse what the others created: it is as diverse as can be and so much fun to see how we all used the same supplies to begin with but ended up with such different projects 😉 You’ll find a tool with all the links at the end of this blogpost.

Hey guys ! I hope you are enjoying this long weekend (we celebrated our beautiful country of Canada yesterday and you in the US will celebrate freedom in a couple days). I wanted to let you know that I have several new original paintings looking for new homes in my Etsy shop. We are moving in two weeks across the country so I will carve time to update my dedicated Instagram account and my etsy with new paintings before putting it in holiday mode until we are settled and that all my paintings have made it safe and sound in my new Studio space.

This is so much easier to adapt how we behave regarding who we are surrounded by. Like a chameleon, this Nixie used to do just that. She would change and shift.

Olive is a Nixie that appeared to remind us that our choices are what make our lives beautiful or miserable.

This Nixie counts many many wounds on her heart. She knows she needs to let it mend by itself and to be gentle so the process can happen.
She knows it could be worse but it does not make it easier, though. Nor does it lessen the pain.

For this week’s {Painting in Motion} video, I wanted to try something new: use only one brand for the colors. Stretch the products and my creative muscles in the process. For this first one, I picked Lindy Stamp Gang (the only thing I did not use for this project, from their brand, is their embossing powders).

I am asking you: which brand would you like me to explore next ?

I really love the texture created by the first layer of tissue paper. All these wrinkles make me SO happy 😀

Lindy Stamp gang has both shimmery products and what they call flat ones, that have just the color. It opens the possibilities depending on what you need for your project.

This week I played in my square Dylusions journal again, I am starting to get fond of this square thing 😉

My levels of stress and anxiety and doubt are sky high right now. So when I stepped into the Studio to film this month’s {Art Journaling In Motion} video, I knew it somehow had to get out of my system.

Art journaling is my outlet. This is how I blow my steam instead of imploding. I wonder: why do YOU art journal ?

I know it is a little on the late side but that’s okay, life got crazy around here with the move etc.

I think that April is the month I love the more Nixies from, so far. Seeing them back to back like this allows me to remember life moments, emotions, what inspired them.

Each Nixie has her story to share, her message coming through me as they emerge. This is why I write them on the back of the canvas once I am preparing them for their new home. They each serve a purpose.
