I am 24 (I’ll turn 25 in september this year). I am a loving and loved spouse and the happy mum of two young girls (we called them “the Trollettes”). The family I built is my achievement.

I won’t lie, sometimes I wish people see me differently that “the wife of…” or “the mother of…”. But it is who I am.

I wish to my family to never give up on their dreams, big, small, crazy. As my Mamounette always did for me (and still do today), I will support everyone and be there no matter what.
Because dreaming makes your heart beat. Because achieving a goal, a dream, makes people happier and lovingful and grateful.

And of course, I wish that Love fills our lives, with laughter and fun… because I know, now, the value of having fun despite the dark sides of Life.

It is a really tough prompt, in my opinion. I am a woman who introspects a lot and always have a lot of questions in mind, but I never thought of “how do I wish to shine“… until now.
Thank you Jamie for giving me the opportunity to think of it.

Indeed, it’s really hard and words are not coming, feelings neither, about HOW I wish to shine.
Maybe because I focus more on the “now” and the finality of what I do/want and not on how it will happen.
And maybe it is because I am too full of doubts about my CAPACITY of shining, even if I know that the Light is here, inside of me and is waiting for me to realize how and when I will let it out.

So… I wish to shine by guiding people. Because Life is about giving & receiving, because I’m not in the expectation anymore, I just enjoy giving. Giving maybe inspiration through my words and artwork, maybe through some advices and often without even knowing I am giving something to someone. Because giving is not only about the material world.

Giving makes me happy, so it makes my Heart & my Soul shine. Just as simply as that. And I wish I could give more and more, to more people.

In fact, I was thinking of creating a logo for a while. Because I am wishing to create some goodies and I’d like to put a logo on it. But nothing came. Nothing.

For Christmas, Santa Claus gave our daughters the DVD of Tinkerbell… so on December 25th, of course, we were watching it all together… and then revelation ! I saw a kind of spiral at the beginning, when Tinkerbell is “called” to what she’s here for. I have a love for spirals, all kind of spirals. And then I felt the urge to take a piece of pater and a pen… and voilà !

Because I am a stamp addict kind of girl, I soon wanted to make this as a stamp. And there’s the magic of the internet, I asked for advice about finding a website, Kathryn (alias Collage Diva) suggested me Simon Stamp that makes customized rubber stamps for a really affordable price (I paid mine around $20USD). I received it today and it’s perfect !

Inspiration can really come from places and things you don’t expect it. I love when it flows like that.

I remember when I did an exercice I found in one of Anne-Marie Jobin book. It was about getting rid of our Fears. Personally, I prefer to treat one thing at a time. And for a beginning to work on my Fear of Success. And I also remember the reaction of my buddy Camille when I told her about it “but how can someone be affraid of success ???”.

Indeed, it can seem strange because everyone whishes to succeed. But I do am affraid of success.

The exercice I did in my journal was quite “simple” in theory: I wrote the word “success” in the middle of my page and then wrote around everything success inspires me, like in a simplified mind map. On the other page of the spread, I wrote “Desire of Success” and why I would love to be successful, what it would feel and bring in my life. And then, I took time to think about what came out and write about it.

Why do I fear Success ? Because of the responsabilities it implies, because I think I don’t deserve to be a successful woman, because others do better than me, because I also fear to become somebody else. I don’t forget the biggest one: Fear of Failure. Shhh I hate this fear. This fear prevents me to even try things I want to. What a waste ! It’s hard to go off this fear, it’s like being blind and finally being able to see the light.
And now, I am absolutely sure that this is this particular fear that explains why I stagnate professionally even if I know now what I want to do and what I want to share with the World.

I remember the amazing reading I had with Alice a few months ago, and she told me that yes I will succeed but there is a risk that I’ll become a little bit too much… over-confident and that it will be one of the big test the Universe may send to me. It would be another me, I don’t want it to exist. I do not want to be the one who thinks she’s better than the others.
So I keep that in top of my mind, without letting the fear come and control me.

My power word for 2010 is “Achievement”, so I have to work hard on my fear of success, because both fear of success and fear of failure go along with each other: I cannot achieve anything while I fear the consequences  of success.

Do you fear success ? How did you manage to switch this negative feeling into something more positive ?

Hello Lovelies !

How was your week ?

It’s already time for a new Gratitude Friday. But before sharing what I am thankful for this week, I wanted to share with you my brand new Gratitude Journal.

For this year, I really was looking for a space dedicated to my everyday gratitude moments, not only a place in another journal I have on my night table. That’s why I grabbed the chance to buy a Moleskine on page a day agenda that was for sale at my artstore. I used one as an usual agenda in 2009 and fell in love. I already love Moleskine so it was not hard for me to be convinced it will be awsome.

I show it to you now but it is not completely finished yet I’ll stamp a “Gratitude Journal” on it this week-end to finish it, and in the inside cover I’ll decorate it with my word of 2010. I’ll talk about it soon.

I painted the outside front cover and play around with acrylic paint. So much fun.

So… this week, I am thankful for:
⚙ The evenings with my husband. I feel like we’re back six years ago and it is so so good. I missed this part of me.
⚙ The afternoon with Nathalie while we made a galette des rois (a french tradition, it’s a dessert made of puff pastry filled with a mix of almond cream and pastry cream called frangipane. You put a trinket in it. Read the wikipedia article to learn more about it).
⚙ We ate some amazing french pastry, feels like France. It’s actually the only thing we really miss from France (I said “thing” not “people”, notice ;)).
⚙ The discussions I had with an old friend.
⚙ I received my journal that has been traveling the World for over a year; it was a part of a Journal Round Robin. Some amazing art in it !
