Every month, Leah & Jamie (I don’t know which one idea it was, I am sorry) make a DreamBoard for the Full Moon.

I love the Moon, it speaks so much to me… By the way, this one is the first month I make a DreamBoard for what I want to blossom during this cycle.

Usually, I make my VisionBoards with collage on watercolour paper, some words added and so on but this time I hadn’t enough time and I REALLY wanted to make it on time so I use Mosaic Maker and FlickR. Here it is:

What do I cherish for this cycle to come ? Balance is the power word. And also Serinity, Creativity… and Love (it’s our fourth wedding anniversary this month !). I want my life to be as I desire it to be.

You may know that I fell in love with Creative Journaling about one year ago (a little bit less than that, actually) thanks to Anne-Marie Jobin‘s excellent books. Then, I don’t remember how but I discovered Suzi Blu on her YouTube channel and that was amazing…
Creative Journal & Art Journal are kinda different, not exactly the same; but I mix both in my way and do what I like as I want it to be. FREEDOM !

Now, I’m a member of Vivian Bonder‘s workshop called Art Journal Series. I’m in love again… The music she uses in her vids is absolutely awsome and all these technique… I’ll show you what I’ve already done. She inspires me so much, that I decided to go ahead of my fear and to start the creation of my first handmade Art Journal. And it begins by creating backgrounds.

Last week (I think it was last week…), I watched this video that promotes Julie’s Layer Love workshop. She’ll teach us how to create background with acrylic. It just looks awsome ! Videos twice a week and so on…

I already spoke about what Shakti Gawain calls the “Treasure Maps” in her book “Creative Visualization“.

As a reminder, it’s collages made on a large piece of paper. Images come from magazines, and are chosen regarding a side of your life you want to change, something you want to be, to have.

I do not have finished “The Secret” book (by Rhonda Byrne) yet (and I should watch the movie, too), but I know that Vision Boards are mentionned in it. I don’t know how deep it’s mentionned, by the way. Why ? Simply because Vision Boards and the Law of Attraction are closely linked one with the other.

I now totally understand the difference between “visioning” and “visualization”. The first one is the concretisation of what is on our mind, it makes it touchable. We dream our life and we put what we want it to be onto paper with images and words. While when we “just” visualize, all stays in our mind. None is better than the other, or is more efficient. They are different. And for me, visualization takes part in the visioning process.

I currently read two books about Vision Boards. The first one is written by famous Lucia Capacchione, that I do love for her work toward the Creative Journal, the inner child and the power of the other hand. Its name is  “Visioning, ten steps to design the life of your dreams“.

She describes all the process to create a Vision Board, with concrete exemples, inspiring quotes and so on. She knows people who worked with Walt Disney, designers, people who draws… It’s a really rich book, very pleasant to read.

the second book I am reading is written by Joyce Schwartz and its title is simply “The Vision Board, the secret to an extraordinary life.”

Here again, Joyce Schwartz illustrates her words with concrete examples, and a lot of colorful photos. It’s a really pragmatic approach. You may find the book a little bit “where do I have to read” because it’s full of informations, writings and pictures.

She explains why Vision Boards are so powerful, and why they’re different from all the other tools we have in hand to settle the Law of Attraction in our lives.

She also proposes some funny exercices.

These to book complete perfectly each other. I wait to have several hours free, only for me, to make Vision Boards. It’s what I miss the most for my creativity: time on my own, while I won’t have to look every minutes to the clock to check if I’ll be late or not, if my daughters will soon wake up…

Vision Boards making requires magazines, newspapers. Personally, I keep all free newspapers I find, magazines I find in shops, that kind of stuff. I have a bag that starts to be full. At first sight, we think we’d never find images that match our will, but you’ll see you’re wrong. Words are important too, out of their context. So… grab !

It’s not always easy to keep a Dream in mind. By the way, it is not for me because I usually give it up or I have so many things in my head that I let it go.

I didn’t have something precise in mind when I started this spread in my Journal, just the Star hanging on a string. I just let my pen draw on the paper.

I don’t know where this hat is coming from, I find it soooo weird ! But I could not see my girl without it then.

This page was done instinctively. It was an inconscious way to test techniques, I painted, gratted, added some layers again & again…

It is hard to see but on the left corner, there is a Moon and three glittery stars.

For the stars, I used double-side tape that I punched with a star punch; I glued them on my page. Then, I pulled the sticky paper off and used a brush to cover them with Microfine glitters.

I made a kind of “dialogue with the picture” on the right page, using some masking tape to have my writing areas. Why triangles ? Absolutely no idea ! It came like that.

At the bottom of the page, I stamped and embossed with whitish Distress embossing powder (it was the first time I used this brand, the effect is… very powdery and particular); I heated it too much, that’s why it’s white under the stamp. For this writing page, I tried a crackle medium for the background (I painted the page with blue acrylic paint, let it dry, applied the crackle medium, let dry and painted with orange acrylic).

I really love this spread and wonder if I would not scan the picture in order to print it and put it on my wall, in front of my desk.

By doing this, it would remember me how close I am to my Dream.

Yes, I am starting a new blog.

I wanted a place dedicated to Creativity stuff, Art Journaling, Vision Boards and so on… Even if it was a good place for it in my “Spirituality” blog, because all is connected, I am sure that a place a part from it is better.
