Hello !

It happens to me sometimes… I just wanna play in my art journal (this one is almost finished !) and see what will come out.

For once, I didn’t start the page with an idea or even an intention. I didn’t want something complicated, nor to draw. Yes, I also forget about my girly sometimes.

This page was really quick to create (like 20mn). I simply began with colours that were appealing to me and then I just followed the flow of what I was seeing.

This is for me a good example to remind me that I don’t necessarily have to spend 1hours to do a page I like and that the unknown can be as fun !

I really enjoy using the sprays and stains made by the brand Lindy Stamp gang. The pigments and shimmers are just gorgeous !

The camera angle is weird and I apologize for this. I try to figure out the best way to record so you can see better and to be still at-ease. I am experimenting and planning to do more and more videos.

Hello !

I hope you all had a Valentine’s day filled with Love.

Sometimes though, I feel like I don’t belong anywhere, that people do not like me (and/or what I create), that all is just a giant facade we are all part of. And the darkness begins to make her way inside, again.
With time, I realized that fighting it is vain. Tiring. But going with the flow with the will not to be drowned helps to keep this sensation short. For me, at least. It was a huge lesson I learned the hard way because I used to let the darkness win.

Acceptance, again and again. It IS hard, isn’t it ?

Do not feel guilty for having negative thoughts running through you, because your thoughts are not necessarily you. And it happens to all of us.

You will think you landed in Fluffy Bunny land but I do feel that Love, self-love especially, is the answer. Love yourself and people will love you. I thought it was just a nice quote before experiencing it myself. I don’t say this is easy, because this is not. When it comes to body image and how afraid I am of what people may think of me, it is a permanent struggle. But it does get better.

Painting and art journaling is my way of pulling out everything. And I am currently in needs of working on my Dark Side. So this is the first thing that came out, and it is also the fourth painting for our 52 paintings in 52 weeks challenge (i love this so much !).

I will post a picture as soon as I can, I am currently experiencing internet issue on my laptop, where all my stuff is located.

Here I am, a chapter can now be closed. I finished my sketchbook for the Art House co-op Sketchbook Project 2011, I’ll send it back today to New York City. And I am on time !

During two weeks, I was sleeping, eating, thinking every free minute of the day about the Sketchbook. I want to apologize to my twitter friends for having filled my twitter feed with so much sketchbook related stuff. I am over the moon to be done, to send it on time. I am unfortunately not one of those that work so well under the pressure of a deadline coming to an end.

I can’t wait to go to the exhibit stop in Seattle, see what the others have done.
Did you know that we are nearly 29,000 participants, from 94 different countries around the World ? I can’t even imagine how it is to organize all of this.

It was a rich experience for me, but I’m not sure I’ll do it again (but I learned to never say “never” !).

I am a perfectionnist and for some points I am kind of ashamed to send it back as it is. But I keep telling myself  “it’s a sketchbook, just a sketchbook.“. I put my heart and soul in these few pages. I wish I’d have done more (more pages, more elaborate), but I didn’t and I have now to accept it. I hope people will enjoy it that way… It seems SO different from what I saw on the website, I am a little scared.

Now, my mind is on all the other projects I want to accomplish 😉

You know how much I love Connie (oh I should create a blog badge from this “I love Connie” all around the blogsphere, what do you think ?! heehee), from DirtyFootprints studio, right ?
What a best way to thank her for everything she offers to the World, to me, that a creative thing made myself ?

At first, I thought of a painting. But, I wasn’t feeling it. And when I don’t feel somethig as being the right stuff to do, I don’t force it. And then, i remembered this 16page journal I made months ago, following Teesha Moore tutorials on YouTube and I had my WOW moment: this was it. I’ll feel it with whatever comes in my mind when thinking of Connie… And I have to confess: I love how it turned out. And I am beyond happy that she loves it too.

Here is her reaction like 5 minutes after receiving it:

Tracie’s journal is just gorgeouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuus !!! See this smile on Connie’s face ? it’s just… it made my day (and my art penpal received her something too ! me=happy happy happy !).

And because i thought it would be fun, I recorded the first spread of the journal. Here you are:

This week is going to be FREAKING AWESOME ! So many good things are happening today I can’t barely take it all.

You know what makes me happy ? Touching lightly my journal pages to find the greasy sensation of oil pastels, the cracks, the fabric sometimes… all the texture at the tip of my fingers makes me happy. I also like going through it to notice the progress made since this first page I created after waking up from a non-pleasant dream I had in a mid-july night of 2008, to the last one affirming my trust to the Universe in August 2010.
About one hundred of pages (multiplied by 2 because it’s done on both sides), it’s kind of a lot of me in there…
