Hello !

Those of you who are following me on Twitter know that I was planning some giveaways for my birthday. Yes, I’m like that: I receive so I give back.

BUT I didn’t receive yet some of the awesome stuff I wanted to offer, that’s why I’m doing later than planned.

For this first giveaway, I chose the new book Dawn Devries Sokol called “Doodle Diary, Art journaling for girls“. It targets girls from 8 years old to…..

The size of the book is perfect to go in your handbag.
Each page is colourful and contains a doodling/writing prompt to get you started. I just love it !

Dawn created herself each and every single page of her book. You can see the texture, the brush strokes, her fabulous typo… It will definitely spark your creativity. And why not going out of the diary and take some of the ideas to work on your own art journal ?

You could think this book is only designed for young girls but trust me: it’s also awesome for adults and teens !

This page goes very well with my ritual of listing every night 5 things that made me happy during my day.

Sing your song, paste the picture of your favorite singer/band, write your favourite lyrics: whatever you want 😀

I think this spread is my favourite one in all the journal. I love the fact that not all of the pages contain a prompt, just having a painted background allows you to cover it in what you want, what it inspires you.

Forget the rule saying we shouldn’t write on a book: it’s made for writing, painting, decorating it !!!

I’m really please to talk about the new Louise L. Hay book that is released today: “Experience your good, NOW“. As you know, I am an Advanced Reader Reviewer for Hay House and I was thrilled to read this book.
Did you ever wonder what are the Positive Affirmations everybody seem to talk about, and how it concretely work ? If the answer is “yes”, this book is what you need. It’s also perfect if you want to improve specific areas of your life but don’t really know how to do so.

First of all, I love two things about this book: its square size, that can fit my handbag really easily (as I already told here, I have the habit to read to books at the same time: one while I’m alone in the public transit, and the other one at home; so I need a book that is not too big nor heavy for the bus).
And the second thing I like the most is that a CD is included with the book, so I can listen to it wherever I want (I put it on my iPod). I loved this principle with her book “Yes, I can do it” that has also a CD included.

This book makes me happy because it does not guilt me for the negative thoughts I can sometimes have (about myself or about anything). Because yes, I’m aware that regarde Positive Thinking, people tend to either think it’s awesome, or it’s bullshit. When it comes to the power of Manifestation, we forget that the thinking is most of the process but it’s not the only thing that we have to take care of (I may talk about it later if you are interested).  I must confess something: a few years ago, one of my dear friend had the habit to use Positive Affirmations; when she told me “every morning, I look at me in the miror and repeat a few positive sentences”, I repressed a laugh and thought it was weird. The first impression is not always good, we have to keep our mind open to what we don’t know.
Today, I know it works because I experienced it. I’ll tell you a short story: I used to be very sick since I was born. Every winter was kind of terrible as I got every virus that crossed my way. About two years ago, I was fed up with always being sick and I told myself “My health is good, my body is strong and resistent”. And I started to felt that way, I let go off the fear of getting sick, and trust me or not but I never got sick again as I was before, or for two days maximum. Because my mind and my body are now balanced together…

I was also a lot inspired by what Louise Hay says before her introduction:

Affirmations are like planting seeds in the ground. First they germinate, then they sprout, and then they shoot up through the ground. It takes time to go from a seed to a full-grown plant. And so it is with affirmations– it takes some time from the first declaration to the final demonstration.
Be patient.

The metaphore with the plant talks to my Soul, it connects with something inside of me. I hope it is the same for you. It reminds me of a page I made in my Journal last year, a seed slowly growing to see the sky and go out of the ground, with a root firmly attached in the earth…

The book is original in the way for each area, it starts with a check-list of emotions related to this area. Then, the author explains us some things, and propose us some exercises to shift our way of thinking; at the end of each part the emotions of the beginning are reviewed and linked with a positive affirmation to erase it and build the positive thought that will replace it.
If you have a Journal, use it as a companion through this process. I don’t recommend to write directly on the book, as you may want to do the exercises and check-lists more than once.

Good Friday, Sweety Pies !

Thanks to the changes in my work schedul, I finally was able to reconnect with my Creativity. You can’t even imagine how frustrated_of_the_creativity I was lately ! Symptoms ? Tinkling hands, images flowing incessantly in the mind just wanting to be pulled out of there on paper…

This week was all about choices for me. All choices are not about one thing being better than the other. I thought a lot, talk about it with my husband a lot too, and did what I think is the best for me, and for my family life.

I’m deeply thankful for this Creativity within me, that is there in my daily life on one way or another, thanks to what I can clear the overflow, to express myself, to simply be ME.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Serious things can now begin….

Here is a new cycle that is coming… it makes me think of SIA‘s song in which she affirms ”It has to end to begin“. It makes me realize that everything is a matter of Endings and Beginnings…

It’s like the Duality that lies within everything (you know the usual stuff: the light wouldn’t exist without the darkness, the summer without the winter… you couldn’t enjoy a “good” meal if you didn’t know what tastes you don’t like, etc.).

I notice that we should always keep this fact somewhere in our mind, just not to forget that if today is kind of bad, tomorrow will be better (oh, makes me think of another song by SIA. Yes, I listen to her a lot lately !).

I am a lot SURPRISED with what came out for this Full Pink Moon… I still don’t have any magazines left (I need to set up a budget for new ones soon). So I decided to paint it.
I had a general idea of what I wanted, but it does not look like what I thought… at all !!!

I’m surprised of all these bright colours (people who know me for quite long may be surprised too, as I’m used to black and really dark tones). I am using more and more colours and must confess that I enjoy it so so much.

I draw dandelions, that represent WishCasting and dreams coming true eventually.
I am feeling truly blessed this time and want to hold this feeling tight.
This desire of connecting with people and weaving a web is coming back…
Gratitude is still important (I do my Gratitude Friday here every week. Don’t be shy and come to share with us ! I’ll be so pleased to read your own Gratitude Friday. To know more about it, it’s there).

I am not affraid anymore to go outside my comfort zone. And to be honest, it’s important to me to explore what usually scares me or intimidates me.

I have the sensation of being at the Dawn of a new era of my life. It may be sometimes difficults but I’m sure that at the end, everything will be alright.
