I love 7 dots studio, brand that I discovered through the amazingly talented Anna Dabrowska (aka Finnabair). The lines are so gorgeous that, to be totally honest with you, it is a bit intimidating to work with for me as I tend to cover up most of my paper layers in my creative process.

I started by tearing the beautiful Messy Head paper to 9×12”, I love ragged edges. Then, I mixed some Gab Me With A Spoon Gray Magical Mica with soft glossy gel medium to create a wonderful shimmery paste, that I simply applied with one of my Catalyst wedge here and there (it was helping me to overcome the «blank page» syndrom). I also used it for the top left corner.

I love love love the new dusty rose color, Bodalicious Blush, and sprayed it through a stencil as well.

Gel media and our LSG products love each other, proof is I used heavy gel with our Midnight Rendezvous Raven glitters (still from Totally 80’s) to stencil through and create her leafy wings; and then again with another stencil that I sprayed, once dry, with Icy Primrose Gold (a discontinued color) *the ink goes in the cracks and creates natural contrast*. 
I used Fiber paste mixed with Time Travel Teal Magical Mica to create a great texture for her hair. It stayed so vibrant even once dry.

The short sentences on this paper are great, you don’t necessarily see them at first but they are here.

I embossed the drops with Pumpkin Fiesta and Hydrangea Blue Mauve embossing powders, I did want the overlapping of the two colors so it was totally made on purpose.

Her antlers were cut out from the What Wood U Say paper, and then sprayed with Cowabunga Copper before being glued.

For her dress, I used the Sweet Dreams paper from the Dreamer collection. The fabric and colors were perfect for a dress. I did not want it to lay flat on top of the rest so I applied gel medium through a stencil, and to make it pop just a little more, sprayed with a golden Starburst Spray (as said earlier).

Her messages, Little Miracles, comes from the Messy Head Elements. I simply sprayed it with Cape Cod Coral and glued it where it seemed important.

I used Frolic In The Forest Green Magical Mica (from the Tickle Me Fancy set) for her eyes. And last but not least, I splattered the amazingly unique Sweet Violet Purple Teal as a final touch.

You now know my total love for Mindy Lacefield. I know for sure that she is one of these Souls I was meant to meet again in this lifetime, I simply adore her. In 2013, she offered a year long class called True Free Spirit, filled with monthly projects. Anastasia is the painting I created inspired by her December project 🙂

You may be aware that I am an art supply hoarder lover. I have plenty of stuff (currently in the process of sorting everything, box by box, and keeping only what I want to use). Mindy’s project reminded me that I actually have a jar of Golden crackle paste (it is very different from the Kroma crackle I usually use now), it looks like white frosting). I wanted to use it somehow. It eventually was used for her hair. Love it.

I was so eager to try the new products from the latest release from Lindy Stamp Gang. It’s a collection called Totally 80’s and designed by Cindy (aka Cynthialoowho). The colors are just amazing and I am happy she came up with them. I don’t like pink in general, except dusty rose because it is more subtle, there is a touch of mauve so it is not pinkinmyface 😉

I went with a winter theme in mind and love how it turned out, even with these two little characters that showed up. They were both pink so I decided to go for it, and add some glittered gel to make them pop a little. By applying it with my finger, I was able to create that texture I love so much.

I love the different textures happening, it is definately a painting that you can discover through your touch as much than with your eyes.

Remember these three backgrounds I started on day #1 ? I worked a bit on them yesterday and finished a painting on one.

My routine has changed, so I have an extra half hour by myself every morning. I still am adjusting, but it means I can usually go to the studio 30 mn early than what I do. I have focus issues I am aware of, and I know I can’t do more than «concentrated» time, or I lose my focus and start procrastinating (or doing too many things at once, which means I don’t finish any of them… yes, it sucks but I am learning and it will get better eventually).

This Koala showed me his ears first, and I went from there. I got frustrated at some point and even thought he was a bit scary (actually, I still think).

When I sketched him, he had a smile à la Cheshire Cat, even scarier ! ahah

I am loving using embossing powders in both my background and my characters, here the drops, the diamond, and his eyes’ circles are all created with embossing powders. I used the ones from Lindy Stamp Gang, they have a unique dual-tone that I just adore.

I am proud of myself for not being that afraid anymore to cover up. I felt like my entire background needed to be covered up, with just bits and pieces showing up.

This Koala has an important message: be you. You could live in your books ? You love dancing ? You sometimes feel like you are the weirdest of all the weirdos *I know I do* ? well… it is what makes you you…

I was inspired a few weeks ago to create the 2nd painting around the Moon (if you want to know more about this series of painting, please head over here). I remember it was the week of a very beautiful Full Moon, and maybe she just whispered in my heart that it was time.

I had lots of fun playing with different kinds of papers for my first layer. Here is what I used: scrapbooking paper, art bleeding tissue paper, painted kraft paper from the papers I use to protect my work table, packagings, envelopes (the inside part), Gelli printed deli paper, music sheet

This time, I also used a masking technique while working on the Moon. But instead of masking where the Moon will be while working on the background, I masked the background (using the same paper than for the first video, you’ll see) to work on the Moon.

It is hard to picture it, but the Moon is very textured. I embossed part of it over spray ink, and splattered some more for contrast. Lindy Stamp Gang now has a very good range of products and it’s perfect whether you want to heat emboss, just add color (with or without shimmers), splatters that will look like nothing else (the list of the products I used will be at the end of this blogpost). 
AND the layers of the Moon still allows to see the background here and there, which makes me very happy !

The message says «Under the big bright Mama Moon, I harvest the fruits of my thoughts». 
No matter how difficult it is, I know we have power over our thoughts, and that thoughts create matters in our tangible world.

I have had this in my Heart for a long long time (like a lot of my ideas, actually), until I finally jumped and get to it.

At first, I thought this series about my love for the Moon would be called «Moonlandia», but at the end if this one, which is the first and titled «Healed», «Mama Moon» imposed itself. Which I could not resist.

This serie is, to me, about letting my Intuition rule. May seem simple, but it is not… for example, I knew I wanted to block in my Moon but was so loving the background going on that I pushed that steps for a few days before going for it. And I am blissed I actually did it because I so love this painting…

I like that it allowed me to go around my comfort zone. I found my Happy again.

I even played with glitters. I mean… come on ! Lindy Stamp Gang now has some glitters and I love love love using them here and there. You’ll see that I’m really carefree when it comes to it 😉

This painting is full of my personal symbols. full. And as long as I know they are here, covering them up was not what makes it difficult. I just love the background so much… I pondered blocking in, or blocking out.

I love purple, this is why I chose several purples Starbursts (=shimmery) and one Flat (one color like you’re used to). I could never go back to another brand than LSG for my sprays, and trust me I was a long time fan, before joining their Design Team a few months ago (dream come true).

The message came intuitively, no thinking involved (other than «will this amazing pen work or no on my textured background ??»)
