I am SO excited to start this week with a new {Painting In Motion} video for you guys !
I hope you’ll enjoy watching this video (scroll at the end of this blogpost to have the list of the supplies I used for it):
I am in the middle of a big thing I call «Operation Covering Up». I have this big box on my Studio floor that is filled of old paintings. I either don’t like them or they were never finished. I decided that instead of buying new surfaces over and over I will use these paintings as a starting point. And let me tell you, everytime I do that, the new painting amazes me even more I guess than if I had started it on a blank surface 😉
Let me tell you about Abby… the painting it started from was ugly, but I liked the colors. However, I decided to go for it and completely gesso it. Doing that is utterly scary but so freeing at the same time. you should try sometimes.
It was quite a thick coat and I just went with the flow. doing marks with my Catalyst blade.
Then it was just a matter of following her guidance. Most of the time, the Nixies know exactly who they are. But Abby… once her cauldron was by her side and I was about to add Stars for her to collect, she yelled. «I am NOT your Star Gatherer. She will come later, but I am not her.» and this is when the drops came to play…
When she was done, I intuitively picked stones to charge her for at least 24 hours <3
There is so much to Abby that would make this blogpost WAY too long so I will stop there. The original already has a new home but I can make prints on order if you are interested so don’t hesitate to claim one.
Here is the list of the supplies you see me using in the video:
