When in doubt, be thankful.

IMG_20140704_142036

This is one of my mantra…

When in doubt, be thankful.
When in tears, be thankful.
When it aches, be thankful.
When you smile, be thankful.
When you’re happy, be thankful.

I never stop doing my own personal Gratitude Friday, in the shadows. But today, after a tough week on many levels, I decided to share mine with you, to invite you to pause for a few minutes and reflect. Feel free to share you own list. There is power in seeing words and sending them to be seen by other eyes.

On this Friday, I am thankful for:

  • Technology bringing us together despite geographic distance.
  • Magic.
  • My Sabbatical Sisters.
  • My will power.
  • Water.
  • The morning Sun on my skin while I eat my breakfast, alone, on the balcony.
  • Music.
  • Books.
  • Raw veggies.
  • Rest.
  • Our neighbors.
  • Moral support.

Your turn, it does not have to be long or big. Tell me, what are you thankful for ?

Gratitude Friday is a weekly ritual I started in order to focus on all the small and big positive things that happened during my week. I invite you to join me, you'll see how much being thankful can change your life. If you want to know more about it, read my introduction post.

Welcome Friday !

Not sure there is a lot to say about this week. Ups. Downs. Repeat. Breathe in between (sometimes).

I’m typing while both my girls are picking at each others, my husband is on whatever screen of his it is, and I try to accept it is our life right at this moment and to be okay with it because I can change myself but not others. Big lesson indeed.

This week, I am thankful for:

  • Sunshine when I go outside. Despite the freaking cold of this week, it’s always welcome.
  • Art that keeps me sane.
  • Good books (I finished Eleanor & Park and I’m back in The Mortal Instruments series with City Of Fallen Angels).
  • Morning walks to start the day.
  • KindredSisters, who listen to me vent without judging for one seconds.
  • Goog snailmail.
  • Mom arrives in less than a month now (which freaks me out as her room is far from being ready).
  • Doctors, dentists.
  • Writing to vent it all away.
  • Songs, from my past, from my present.
  • My husband
  • My daughter Koala’s creativity.

Gratitude Friday 01/31/2014, Thank you Laughter

    Hello hello !

This week I am thinking ahead and am writing it the night before, knowing I will spend the morning at the doc office and then trying not to get crazy by myself in the city with the girls before Chéridoo picks us up from work to spend the rest of the day as an early weekend together.

In this special New Moon, I light all the candles I can and will tonight hold my Labradorite (which happens to be my Power Stone) while meditating and sending Reiki.

This week, I am thankful for:

    • Kindness.
    • Laughter.
    • Help received. Help provided.
    • Good food.
    • Anticipation *not my strong side*.
    • Prayers answered.
    • Sara Bareilles’ new album, The Blessed Unrest.
    • The book I’m currently immersed into, Eleanor and Park (by Rainbow Rowell… amazing first name, isn’t it ?).
    • My KindredSisters *they rock*.
    • My Chéridoo.
    • The teacher who helped deal with a situation at school.
    • The RainbowLoom thing, that teaches my girls 1)to persevere 2)the joy of giving.
    • Getting organized and make it easier on me once I’ll finally have the past 3 weeks’ photos printed for our Project Life album.
    • Hot pink lipstick (wearing Jilted from Urban Decay).
    • Starting to film my first online class *nervous wreck*.

What’s on your list this week ?

Gratitude Friday 01/24/2014, Thank you good news

«Thank You» Gratitude Friday is a weekly ritual I started in order to focus on all the small and big positive things that happened during my week. I invite you to join me, you'll see how much being thankful can change your life. If you want to know more about it, read my introduction post.

It is Friday *can I get a deep sigh of relief ?* ! I’m happy this week is coming to an end. Was emotionally very rough on my family. We are working on it together and I do believe that it will tighten our bonds eventually. But on the moment, it fucking hurts *excuse my language*.

I keep telling you: this is in this specific kind of weeks that it is the most important to carve some time to reflect on the goodness Life brings you. It shifts everything. Give it a try.

This week, I am thankful for:

      • The relief of not needing the perio surgery for my gum yet. We’ll see how it goes next year.
      • Finding the pages I thought were lost for the book I’ll be published in.
      • My youngest daughter asking several nights at dinner that we take time for saying our Gratitude before eating.
      • Support I receive.
      • Good words from a customer who received her original painting.
      • Listening to ragga and still enjoying it like when I was 16.
      • Continuing to shed some weight.
      • The chance to spend 5ish hours at Clipper Street for Donna Downey’s workshop  *more on that very soon*.
      • The night out with Chéridoo, and our neighbors who took care of our girls.
      • Time spent with my local creative friends.
      • Love.
      • My morning walks.
      • Working my ass of in the Studio.
      • Bringing the Magic back in my life.

I hope you’ll join me in this Ritual.

Gratitude Friday 01/17/2014, thank you Mama Full Wolf Moon

«Thank You» Gratitude Friday is a weekly ritual I started in order to focus on all the small and big positive things that happened during my week. I invite you to join me, you'll see how much being thankful can change your life. If you want to know more about it, read my introduction post.

Happy Friday you gorgeous Soul !

This Full Wolf Moon you guys… how big and shiny… and challenging for me on an emotional level (boohoo). I have been doubting, crying, questioning. But still trusting somehow that if the Universe is putting me through it (again), it is only because I can grow from it.
Are you sensitive to it as well ? I'd love to know how it manifested for you.

This week, I am thankful for:

        • The lessons learned in every experience. Bad and good.
        • Creativity, expressing itself in many forms this week.
        • Cuddles and hugs.
        • Sweet words from amazing Sisters.
        • Feeling the stretch and pain of expansion (remember, it is my little word for this year 2014).
        • Magic. Inside and Outside of me. Getting back to what I feel are my roots, the one I started to grow over a decade ago to abandon and coming back to it now.
        • A lunch date with my Husband
        • My friends Melissa and Nancy (with her two kids) who came on Sunday for an art playdate.
        • Weeks 1 and 2 of our Project Life album are done (well, almost).
        • Books that bring me into a whole different universe as if it was real.
        • My sacred adornments. Jewelry with a purpose.

And you, what are you thankful for this week ?
