Finally a new {Art Journaling In Motion} episode, in my Moleskine journal ! *yaaaay*
Again, easy but fun. I try to just have fun, this project is my nugget of joy, the one thing I take all the pressure I usually put on my shoulders OFF.
I wanted to play with the clear gesso from Finnabair (by Prima) and see the difference with the clear gesso I have always used so far, by Liquitex.
The main difference resides in the fact that the Liquitex one truly adds grit to your surface, you can see me touch the dry gesso and… it was not gritty. However, it does its purpose of making the paper porous again (because gel medium changes that) so it will soak up the pigments from my Primary Elements mica powder, activated with water.
Using what I have and playing around. I loved using the Primary Elements powders to add my color to my page and oh my goodness they are just gorgeous… gorgeous color with a shimmer to it that creates something out of this world. I wish the camera would pick it up properly so you could see. I want you to see the shimmer, not so easy to capture on camera but I hope you’ll see it:
I can’t wait to play more with this clear gesso. I really thought it would have the consistency of gel medium, even the soft kind, but no. It is on the liquidy kind but in a wide mouth jar. The main difference with the Liquitex Clear Gesso is the absence of grit to the touch. However it has the same property and therefore I can write more easily over it than with the Liquitex one. However, this makes a bigger difference than I would have thought…

Here is the list of the supplies I have used for this spread:
What you don’t see above: book pages, tissue paper, spray bottle filled with water
