I woke up Monday morning with a strange idea: why not share with others my Gratitude ?
Many people were aware of the importance of being grateful thanks to The Secret (the book as well as the movie), but now matter how the eyes got opened.
For a few months now, my two daughters and I (it’s harder for my husband) have a little ritual: every day, during dinner or before they go to sleep, each of us list at least three things she liked during the day. From the simpler fact (eating a candy, for example) to something mor “exceptional”, we learn together to appreciate what we have, what we live, what we share. And even if they’re only 4 and 2 1/2 years old, they wait for this moment with impatience, and it’s not rare that they come out from their bedroom, saying “Moooom we forgot to share what we liked today ! So, today, I liked……….; and you, what did you like ?”, and it’s very fun.
I am sure I am not the only one to keep a Gratitude Journal. It is such a good way to remember, later on. It can be only a list, or more elaborate. It’s up to you. And if you forget to do it one day, or more, don’t blame yourself. Don’t be too harsh.
Here is a little dictionary definition of what is being grateful: warmly or deeply appreciative of kindness or benefits received; thankful (source: dictionary.com).
So if it sounds good to you, feel free to share with us, every friday, what you have been grateful for during the week. You can blog about it if you want, and put the link to your post in a widget i’ll insert, so we can have a circle of grateful people we can support ๐ If you don’t have a blog, we’ll share by comment too.
And don’t be affraid: even if your only grateful for the succulent meal you ate, it’s awsome ๐
I can’t wait to read you on Friday ! (PS: if you can’t share on Fridays, feel free to share any other day).
Wow! There is so much to be grateful for this week! Starting with 90 degree days in Phoenix in July! Woo hoo!! I am blessed with amazing friends, family, the best dog in the universe- Sterling.
In the past week I was able to see one of my favorite musicians Daniel Nahmod in concert 3 times in 5 days what a gift, his lyrics and music have touched my heart and my soul!
And the gift of starting over each and every day, knowing that every day I get to choose how I want to be, who I want to be, and how I wish to show up in this world. What a blessing, what are you grateful for today?
I like this idea very much and would like to try it. Last night at a local bookstore I was looking at Sarah Ban Breathnach’s new book, in which she stresses the importance of gratitude. I need to do this more often–see the good things in my life!
P.S. I found your blog while looking for reviews of Kelly Rae Roberts’ Flying Lessons ebook. I’m thinking of buying it but I’m unemployed so I need some encouragement!
Great site, BTW!
his sounds wonderful! I would love share in on the gratitude Friday. what a great way to connect with blessings.
Artfully Yours,

It’s funny and awesome that I am reading this and having seen the secret just yesterday. I made a journal the other day also. I wanted it to be a resolution journal, but did not touch it until yesterday and made it into a gratitude journal. I feel this is not just coincidence but a sign. Thank you.
I slip and fall in and out of gratitude. This will be a good discipline for me; thanks.
3 things I am grateful for: some creative work that I will be paid for this month is number one,
number two would be it is 51 degrees today and getting closer to motorcycle season…
.and number three…..would be the connection I experience with my ‘creative’ friends.
It’s like we can pick up a conversation quickly and we have not seen each other face to face in a long time.
and number four would be I just invested in a set of wonderful watercolor pencils and they are gunna be
Fun, Fun, Fun!!
this is a great idea and I will start tomorrow, june 17, 2011…how exciting for us to do…
