Today, I wanted to share with you some of the stuff that is brightening my daily moments. The weather is meh here in the Fraser Valley, so for me, it’s all about what brings me joy in the everyday life.
You’ll see that it’s nothing fancy at all and all about what I call my nuggets of joy.
- The “Fir-ever grateful” and “Palo Santo” candles from Bath & Body Works. I have always loved candles, and these two are my current favorite scents. I light them in my Studio when I work on the computer or on art.
- Dresses and skirts from Hot Topic (they have pockets!!!). I usually prefer dresses over skirts for the simple reason than it requires less thinking: the top and the bottom are already coordinated for me π
- Halsey newest album “If I can’t have Love, I want Power*”
- My Frixion* pen in all the colours. They are erasable, so it makes it easier in my planner.
- True crimes documentaries/fictionized stories. I binged the two seasons of “Dirty John” on Netflix (trigger warning though: lots of gaslighting in both stories). It is fiction but based on true stories. I really appreciate Connie Briton as an actress. I’ll take any recommendations (I have Netflix, Crave and Prime video) π
- Loud Lacquer nail polishes. You can build your own bundle in order to receive discounts, which is really nice. The colors are stunning and the names are fucking funny!
- The Ferris Wheel Press inks. I am waiting for my order to ship as I treated myself with other inks as well as one of their fountain pen and one of their newest rechargeable ball pen as well. Some of the inks are shimmery, others are flat. They can be use for writing and for art as well. Plus, this is a canadian company so it makes it even better to support them (in my mind).
- New collections from About.Face. They have one all about glitters (for the eyes, the lips and even the brows!). And the Fall collection has all the colors I love.Β Give me grey and purple, and I’ll be happy…

I am so with you on Dirty John and friction pens!! May have to check out your other items as possible xmas ideas π
I really have a thing for series inspired by true crimes. I think Dirty John (both stories) was really well made.
You’ll tell me if you try anything from my list and love it π
That glitter eye paint needs to be on my face now! It’s perfect for a dance show I have in January.
I know that a lot of people think “oh, just another celebrity jumping on the makeup wagon” (and I understand that thought). It’s different with Halsey for many reasons: they often do their own makeup for events, etc. And has always been vocal about how this is something they love to begin with. I have several of their products and they are amazing. If you try the glitter eye paint, please share with me what you do with it π
Now I have to go and read all the names of the nail polish! I love your list. I watched the 1st of Dirty John ages ago and it found it very addictive. Presently watching Ru Paul’s Drag Race on Netflix. Just finished season one. Love it.
For the nail polishes names, it’s just great. I am currently wearing a shade called “Boondocking” and had to google the meaning of this word lol. It’s not a huge company, which I love. Plus… everyone now knows I adore Bailey Sarian, and her two collabs with Loud Lacquer are fantastic.
I am not a fan of Ru Paul in general but glad you are enjoying his show π
I haven’t been to Hot Topic in forever! I wish there was one closer.
Frixion pens are fun. They remind me of Erase-a-mate pens from when I was a kid.
I love true crime documentaries.
Great list!!
Lisa recently posted…Self-Care, Health, And Letting Go
I loved “Erase-a-mate” pens when I was a kid because my Grandpa only used those for his crosswords. I even forgot about them before you mentioned it… Thank you <3
There were no Hot Topic in QuΓ©bec, we had to go all the way to Ottawa. I am praying they will finally have a Canadian website as well because it makes no sense to order in the US π
I just started "The Innocence Files" on Netflix, and because I love everything forensics (my 16yo wants to work in this field), this is even more fascinating.
Never thought about dresses that way. I used to only wear dresses but mostly because I was always told to wear them because it made me look thinner. So when I started my Liberation journey I got myself funky pants and those are my main uniform these days. Awesome list!
It totally makes sense that you rebelled against dresses because of what you were told. I would have done the same, there’s no doubt π
What a good idea to think about what brings me joy! Thank you. My mind has been more of a downer lately and I want to stop it. The pens look like fun and I like Connie Briton. I don’t know how long it’s been since I wore a dress.
