It’s finally officially the last month of 2020… 2021 is still a blur but as my Soul Whisper for next year came to me, I realized I did not open back the commissions for the mini paintings in my Etsy shop. It’s now right there if you want to honour your guiding word.

Each mini mixed media painting is custom made to your likings. You tell me your favorite color-s and your word, and then I go with it.
I meditate first, and then I intuitively paint.
When the painting is finished, I send you a picture so you know this is what you were expecting and if I get your “go”, I will charge it with Reiki and smudge it before packing it and sending it your way 🙂

These are a real treat for me, they fill me with hope and joy. And it’s a perfect gift, for yourself or for a loved one <3

Oh you guys…. this is almost the end of 2019 and of course, I have been in full reflection mode. Was this year as I wanted it to be? Was I nicer, sweeter, less stressed than before? Did I accomplish my goals? Yea, a lot of journaling is now happening daily.
I am not sure I will continue to post these weekly Gratitude Fridays next year.

This week, I am thankful for:

• The past 16 years alongside the man who is now my husband of 14 years
• Art making
• Creative explorations
• Opportunities
• Witchery
• Reading, learning, journaling, digesting pieces of information
• Being back at daily workouts
• Food as a love language (even towards myself)

This week marks the fact that I have been going back to work after almost two months of having to rest my arm. It’s not back to normal 100% and I feel like I have to accept the fact that it will never be. However, this period at home helped me get a clearer vision of what I want my life to be. More on that later 😉

This week, I am thankful for:

• Finally sharing this video I took weeks to create, for various reasons.
• Signing up for a crystal watercolour painting class online (tell me if you wanna know more about that)
• Sarah Trumpp’s facebook group: Witches of Wonder
• Being more and more comfortable driving
• Free food from my day job
• Laughter
• Discovering the tv show A million little things
• Pairing a legging with an oversized sweater is SO comfy
• Teaching myself how to edit a multi-cam video and I just love this… (you’ll see the result if you are part of Book Of Days 2019 ;))
• Finally having a clearer idea regarding what I want my life to be (well, yes I am 34. Thank you)

I won’t lie: I am a little (lot) nervous to share this new video with you. This is nothing like I have shared in the past so I hope you will still enjoy these 4+ minutes with me 🙂 If I have learned something in my decade of blogging, it is that what I fear the most is what is needed to be shared. So here we go!

2019 has been a really tough year for my mental health. Because I have been struggling and I am seeing the same shit around me, I believe it is an important subject and that I need to be honest with myself, and therefore with you. I am learning that it’s okay not to be okay. That I need to pull the different layers I have been accumulating for decades in order to finally be my self. Unapologetically.

Don’t lose who you are

Fighting depression while fighting other health challenges has been tough. However, I know it could be worst. Knowing does not always help though, does it? It is like saying to your child “eat all the food on your plate, there are millions of starving children in Africa” you know: it is true, but it does no good in the issue. Did you know that as a teen and a young adult, I wanted to become a psychoanalyst? The human psyche is a maze I have always wanted to dismantle and understand better. Mine included. This is why I keep a written journal. I have been since I was around 7 years old. Yes, there is sometimes a huge gap between my entries. I learn to let go of this guilt and to continue anyway. Self-portraiture, but also getting my hands moving and creating something (whatever it is) is one of my way of getting out of my own way. Putting this video together challenged me like no other so far; this is something I am truly passionate about and I hope you will take something out of it. Maybe you will consider seeing a therapist or at least talking to someone. I struggle with self-harm and with eating disorders; admitting this is a huge step forward for me. But I know this is not all that defines me, and that’s essential for me to remember that in order to move on properly. I am not my circumstances.

About this Nixie, Elizabeth (alias Biz)

As I was planning the making of this video, I stepped into my ArtCave. I decided to dedicate a Nixie to it. I smudged and prayed, I asked my Guides to let a Nixie come to life. It was not easy to commit to it because I noticed I tend to fly from confrontation. Yes, even personal internal confrontations (silly!). But there is some power and some magic that can happen when you just open yourself to whatever you need to create…

This week… I don’t actually have much to say about it because it was just another one where I tried my best to rest my fucking arm. After pausing for a bit, I am taking the anti-inflammatory meds again; it helps but it is no miracle. Hopefully, I will go back to work next week (if all goes according to plan).

This week, I am thankful for:

• Writing this from the BAnQ in Montréal. Listening to some new music by Sasha Sloan. Full from a meal shared with my husband.
• The flame in my belly, making a come back. The spark I thought was long lost.
• Books. Especially the possibility to borrow them freely.
• And the hugs from my loved ones.
• Working on this video, shooting b-rolls, stretching my creative muscles, editing said video in a way new-to-me.
• Being almost done with the work for a client, hoping she’ll like the result.
• Working on my next class, working to open my Patreon, working to update my Etsy shop with new original artwork.
• Quinoa. And my Instant Pot.
• The two Nixies I recently painted.
• Music conveying my feelings, sometimes the deeper ones I try to keep buried.
