I’m writing this Gratitude Friday from my phone, in the car. We are on our way back from a few days north of Toronto, Ontario. Sunshine, hikes, game boards, rest… I guess the four of us needed this more than we thought.

This week, I am thankful for:

• Wizards Unite game, I’m too addicted though
• The possibility to take these few days off work
• Family time
• My girls did not fight *that* much
• A car comfy enough for road trips
• Hiking
• Finally having eaten at Momofuku Noodle bar and having tried some sweets from their Milk Bar
• Sleep

For once, I am actually writing this on a Friday before hitting “publish”. It’s around 7 am and I am awake since 5:15 am… my mind woke up by a dream about work. I put a lot of pressure on myself to be very good now when today is my 4th day. Yesterday was bad and left me very frustrated with myself. Bringing up a lot of anxiety. And anxiety multiplies the symptoms of the fibromyalgia. So… yup.
It’s my youngest daughter’s last day of school today, she finishes up 6th grade before entering secondary school next year. A lot to think about. I am excited to be tomorrow afternoon. Next year, I’ll be the Mom of two teenage daughters!

This week, I am thankful for:

• Having found a job close to home
• Biking to and from work as I am still not confident driving our car (it’s a Grand Caravan, y’all. Massive beast)
• Sleep when it’s finally restful
• A nice boss
• A job I actually like and could become good at, I hope
• Family vacations coming up
• Not giving up

I am noticing my anxiety level going up and up everyday that passes. I don’t know what to do about it, the Gremlins won’t shut up and tell me things I know are shit but knowing it is bullshit does not help. I chose the lyrics video for you guys, instead of the official one 😉

This week felt mostly like a big set back in term of my mental health. BUT it’s ending and it’s finally Friday so cheers to that!
How did Life treat you this week? An artist I really appreciate shared that he attempted suicide this week, it set the tone… Depression is not just feeling low, it is stronger than that. His attempt forced me to look even deeper and to accept that I might need help even though I am scared to ask for it. We will see (I am a stubborn bitch).

This week, I am thankful for:

• My Mom’s unconditional Love
• Being on point in my meal prep for the week
• My delicious vegan lunches, all for my self and by myself (PS: you can follow my foodie’s adventures on my second Instagram account)
• This new personal project I just started. It is using my self-portraits coupled with words
• Reiki
• My Husband’s help regarding my productivity
• CBD oil spray for sleep
• The come back of my hot baths!

I decided that now and then I might explain my soundtrack choice… Since her “breakdown” a decade ago, I fell in love with Miley Cyrus’ music. Not that crappy pop from her Hannah Montana years, but the deeper and more honest stuff. I used to listen to Bangerz and Miley Cyrus and her dead petz on repeat.
I did not love her last album, though. Too country for my liking. But this EP? yes!
This song is embodying the rage I feel more often than not nowadays.

This week has been noisy. We had repairs done for two separate issues over three days. Our dog, Dobby, who is a mix of a Chihuahua and we think Jack Russel is a people person but a scared dog at the same time. He was ever barking or whining the first two days. And it was driving me insane because nothing was calming his nerves (I guess we all know that feeling, don’t we?). But now it’s done, our bank account is dryer but I can take back again…

This week, I am thankful for:

• The come back of hot baths!
• LGBTQIA+ characters in books
• The meal my Husband bought for me at the vegan restaurant in his new job’s building
• Sunshine
• Yummy vegan or vegetarian food
• Seeing the seeds we planted grow day after day
• Creating in my Art Journal again
• Sharing another video this week
• Ideas swimming in my mind
• Taking a step towards people: I am fucking volunteering at the Nouvelle Ère Tattoo convention
• Podcasts

I have to admit that even though it is not chronic, I often have a bit of an issue with change. This is not change itself that creates anxiety, but the unknown.
See, my Husband just started a new job. After a bit over 9 years working for Electronic Arts, first in Vancouver then here in Montréal, he decided to take a different route. And I applaud him for it, because it is not easy to go from what you comfortably know to something else.

This week, I am thankful for:

• Our plumbery issues are now fixed
• This week’s adjustment did not go as bad as I thought it would
• I ate lunch every day (which I tend to skip when alone)
• Walking with my daughter to her school in the morning
• Waking up earlier, it feels good
• My Mom’s clean health report for her breast cancer (now going on the last year before she’s officially in remission)
• My fanart painting of Billie Eilish being finally released
• Heat
• Daily journaling
• Making progress on the lotus painting that will go in our “Chill Out” room, completing a wall of Lotus paintings we started
